Mission Statement
The Elizabeth Taylor HIV/AIDS Foundation (ETHAF) was established by Elizabeth Taylor in 1991 to raise much-needed funds to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS, and to provide assistance for those who have already contracted the AIDS virus. Through various fundraising activities in which Ms. Taylor directly participates, such as specially hosted events and public appearances at fundraisers, ETHAF receives contributions which are disbursed to other organizations and entities involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Each recipient foundation is first researched by ETHAF and then personally selected by Ms. Taylor.
Although Ms. Taylor is the co-founding chairman of amfAR (American Foundation for AIDS Research) and is still heavily involved with amfAR, she believes that through the establishment of her own AIDS Foundation, ETHAF, she is able to provide assistance in areas which are outside the scope of amfAR’s primary goal, which is supporting AIDS research. Through The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, Ms. Taylor (1) supports organizations delivering direct care and services to AIDS patients (2) supports organizations that provide education to the public regarding the AIDS virus and the prevention of AIDS, and (3) supports organizations conducting research to develop treatments and a cure for AIDS. ETHAF also provides financial assistance to physicians for the delivery of medical care to HIV/AIDS patients and for research regarding the HIV/AIDS virus. Furthermore, ETHAF provides financial support for organizations and entities both within and outside the United States.
ETHAF supports existing organizations and entities that have exhibited integrity in managing their operations along with the knowledge and ability to expediently provide services to their patient or achieve other designated goals.Through Ms. Taylor’s efforts and the contributions ETHAF receives, she is able to provide assistance in treating HIV/AIDS patients and in ultimately assisting in finding the cure for the AIDS virus.
